Arizona Desert Ironwood Wood Ring With Turquoise Inlay Titanium Ring

This wooden ring is made with Arizona Desert Ironwood and it can range in color from deep red to brown to orange and yellow. Each piece is unique. It has the depth and chatoyancy of a cat's eye gem. It is, of course, amazingly strong and heavy. I heard it is one of the hardest and densest woods in the world. Accustomed to working with Ebony, and Lignum Vitae, I expected to be unimpressed. Only upon getting some cutoffs and putting drill to it did I realize just how worthy of the name "ironwood" this material is. It is nearly 20% more dense than Gabon Ebony (1.2 specific gravity as opposed to 1.03- it will sink in water). It is one of the rarest (it grows only in the Sonoran Desert) and oldest species of wood that still lives. It is a natural choice to pair with turquoise, not only because the colors are at opposite points of the color wheel, but because the result is the classic colors of the American Southwest.

Each ring is handmade to order, so the stone band width may vary very slightly, and will always remain relative to the overall band width.

The titanium liner is 6al-4v grade 5 titanium, preferred among jewelers. 

Titanium ring sizes run from 4 to 16 including quarter sizes. I highly recommend going to a jewelry counter to determine your size, even if you already know your size. "Do it yourself" ring sizing methods (string, etc.) should absolutely not be trusted. Be sure to be measured using the width you plan to order". 


NOTE ON WIDTH:

Recommended width is calculated in this way: Size 5 is 5mm wide. Width increases .5mm per full size above that. 

Sizes 4-9 will have .5mm of titanium on each side of the wood. Sizes 9.25+ will have 1mm.

So:

Size 5- 5mm - 4mm wood stripe
Size 7- 6mm - 5mm wood stripe
Size 9- 7mm - 6mm wood stripe
Size 10- 7.5mm - 5.5mm wood stripe
Size 11- 8mm - 6mm wood stripe

Titanium lined wood rings cannot be resized at all! Every ring is made to the exact size provided. An error in sizing that exceeds the margin provided above will necessitate a completely new ring. Refunds and exchanges will not be possible.

Each ring is given multiple coats of a hybrid epoxy finish, which is completely water-proof and soap proof. This protective coating is sanded up to 12,000 grit for an unbelievable, glass-like finish.All rings ship via USPS Priority (or Priority International) Small Flat Rate Box.  You pay what I pay for shipping, nothing more.
